River Valley Community College will host an Advanced Manufacturing Career Awareness Fair on Saturday morning, February 1st at their main campus in Claremont. Attendees will learn about River Valley’s Advanced Manufacturing Training Program as well as meet representatives from area manufacturing companies.
“River Valley continues to support education and awareness of manufacturing as a profession in the Granite State,” said Jim Britton, Program Director for the Advanced Machine Tool Technology Program at River Valley Community College.
The Career Fair in February will provide interested individuals with information about Advanced Manufacturing and hands-on training offered at River Valley in Claremont and Keene. This highly-tech training will prepare students for successful careers in advanced manufacturing industries in and around the region.
“With manufacturers in the Granite State and the New England region reporting a shortage of specifically trained, highly skilled workers,” continued Britton, “opportunities abound for exciting, stable jobs in a field with high growth and income potential.”
“We are committed to the creation of education and training that serve the needs of employers, the New Hampshire workforce, and the economic development needs of the state and our region,” said Britton. River Valley’s partnerships with manufacturing firms across the region represent a strategy that builds upon the strengths of the college, our state economic development agencies, and the private sector in delivering a truly comprehensive program leading to job placement.”
