President of River Valley Community College Dr. Alicia Harvey-Smith and members of the college’s Advanced Machine Tool Program team hosted Lovejoy Tool Company’s Director of Administration Todd Priestly at River Valley’s Keene Academic Center. Lovejoy donated more than $18,000 in new tooling equipment to the college’s Advanced Machine Tool program. “The tooling and equipment will be used by every student that comes through the Advanced Manufacturing programs at River Valley’s Claremont and Keene campuses,” said RVCC President Harvey-Smith. “Students in the advanced manufacturing certificate and degree programs, as well as employees of our industry partners who participate in training and development programs at the college will have hands-on experience with these quality Lovejoy Tool products as they learn advanced manufacturing.”
River Valley Community College has two locations, the main campus in Claremont and its Academic Center in Keene. Lovejoy Tool donated enough tools for two complete sets of tooling for all of the machines at both campus locations. They are indexable style end mills from their 205 Series which offer a shear angle geometry for a broad application. These tools are multifunctional, channel cutting, peripheral work and square shoulder. Designed and engineered for high speed, these light duty machine tools are being used in CNC mills as well as Bridgeport machines.
