Deciding to go to college and what college to attend can be a very difficult decision. No matter what path you choose, it starts with deciding to take the first step. Whether just graduating high school, out of school for years, whether happily employed and looking to advance or unemployed and looking for a new beginning, take a moment to envision your future at River Valley Community College, a future that you will design. Where ever you envision your future; River Valley Community College can get you there. Whether your “there” is transferring to a four year institution, starting a career in your chosen field, expanding your skills through training and development or taking a course for pleasure, River Valley Community College can get you “there!” River Valley Community College (RVCC) will assist you in designing a pathway to your future and turning your dreams into reality.
If you are a parent, helping your child select a college is a landmark moment. The decision is a bridge to adulthood and a moment that will shape your child’s future. For you, the search for the right college experience may seem overwhelming. What do you want for your child? Certainly, you want academic excellence. What they learn is important. But you also want them to be part of a warm community of learners. You want them to develop close personal relationships, to feel involved, rewarded and successful in their pursuits and positioned for future success. You want all of this, but how much will it cost? I encourage you to consider RVCC. At RVCC, we offer academic excellence and the personal college experience, at a fraction of the cost of other college options.
The Community College System of New Hampshire just voted to lower tuition in response to the needs of families in New Hampshire and our surrounding areas. A three-credit course at many colleges in New Hampshire can cost $1,710 or more. At RVCC, beginning this fall, the cost of a three-credit course is $600. Multiply this savings over an entire degree or certificate program and you will see several thousands of dollars in savings while gaining an exceptional education. Financial aid and scholarships are also available to assist you. RVCC is the right choice both for its academic excellence and its economic advantage.
With the main campus situated on 185 acres in Claremont, an Academic Center in Keene and online courses, RVCC is fully accredited by The New England Association of Schools and Colleges Commission on Institutions of Higher Education. RVCC offers associate degrees and certificates in thirty-seven programs, preparing students to confidently and successfully enter a variety of fields. Our courses are rigorous and challenging, and our faculty and staff are dedicated to student success.
Within RVCC’s collegial and dynamic learning environment, you will be able to design the future you dream about. RVCC also has a number of exciting new developments to help make your experience even better.
- The college has completed a 2.9 million dollar renovation of its main campus in Claremont, which includes updating classrooms and technology to support the learning environment. Included are new labs and technology for unique statewide programs in Occupational Therapist Assistant, Physical Therapist Assistant, Respiratory Therapy, and Advanced Machine Tool, as well as a new Student Success Center.
- New transfer agreements allow students graduating from RVCC to enter seamlessly as juniors into programs at four-year colleges and universities. Many include scholarship support, such as agreements with Colby Sawyer College in New London and the New Hampshire Institute of Art in Manchester.
- A new co-location and articulation agreement with Granite State College allows students to dual enroll in one of four programs on seamless pathways from associate through Master’s degrees, and will bring RVCC into downtown Claremont.
At RVCC, we believe every person should have the opportunity to develop to their fullest potential. We help our students to discover and build strengths, to develop a love of learning and to be ready for success.
