This one day course will provide the professional massage therapist with a refresher on efficient body use, primarily through the lens of myofascial release techniques. Kevin’s instructional focus is “therapist sustainability” - developing habits of body use that allow the practitioner to work with precision and intensity while protecting their own structure for a long and pain free career.
We will work with various areas of the body, in prone, supine, and side-lying positions, to explore the concepts. The atmosphere will be focused and fun. Students will complete the class able to work more efficiently, no matter their style of work… and pick up a few new massage techniques along the way!
For the past 25 years, Kevin has taught for the massage certificate program at River Valley Community College, and teaches body awareness classes at the Community College of Vermont, as well as continuing education seminars in Vermont and New Hampshire for massage therapists and yoga teachers. He maintains a private practice in Hartford, VT. He is the director of bodywork at Open Door Integrative Health, where he also teaches tai chi. Kevin has also practiced and taught traditional Japanese martial arts for nearly four decades, and is a certified personal trainer.
