Meet RVCC’s New Peer Mentor: Amber Goodrich!

Major: Social Services

Hello, my name is Amber and I am a Peer Mentor at River Valley Community College. I am in my second semester working towards my degree in Social Services. One day I hope to use my education to become a Behavior Analyst. I currently work at Youth M.O.V.E as a Youth Peer Support Specialist. On the rare occasion I have free time, you’ll find me dressing my cat in Hawaiian shirts or loading up on candles and clothes at TJ Maxx. As a new college student who works full-time, I understand some of the struggles that exist with balancing work and school and getting the resources needed to be successful. My goal is to answer the questions that anyone may have and to lead people in the right direction (toward everything RVCC has to offer its students). Please reach out with any questions or just to say HI via email: agoodrich046@students.ccsnh.edu

Student Government Association (SGA)

SGA is looking to fill 2021-2022 officer positions! Contact Tara Strong for an application.

Attending Student Government Association (SGA) meetings is a great way to get involved on campus. The SGA is a student led association that supports the student body by creating programs that are designed to meet the needs of students. Due to the efforts of SGA, students can request reimbursements for specialized materials required for courses, CPR certification, fitness memberships and printing.

Student Government Association (SGA) meetings are every other Wednesday (Starting September 22, 2021) at 1:30pm. Attend via Zoom by joining this link https://ccsnh.zoom.us/j/4841544013 or in-person on the Claremont campus in room 172.

If you are a student that is looking for SGA reimbursement forms, here they are! Completed forms should be sent to Tara Strong at tlstrong@ccsnh.edu

Student Clubs

River Valley boasts a variety of clubs for students to join. In addition, students may create their own clubs if they would like to. Getting involved on campus is a great way to connect to the college community and develop friendships that last a lifetime.

Phi Theta Kappa

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) is the largest international honor society for two-year colleges. PTK recognizes and encourages scholarship, leadership, service, and fellowship. Invitations for membership are extended to associate degree students who have accumulated 12 credit hours here at RVCC, have achieved a 3.5 cumulative grade point average, and have demonstrated leadership and service. The River Valley Community College chapter is Alpha Delta Chi.
